Leading Nordic and Scandinavian specialist Magnetic North Travel has launched its inaugural programme of Canadian holidays.

The new programme caters for those looking to experience Canada’s great outdoors and legendary wilderness, incredible wildlife and cultural heritage. It also features a number of Canada’s most aspirational places to stay.

The expanded programme comes as Magnetic North Travel identifies a number of synergies between Canada and the Leicester-based travel company’s existing Northern European collection, which includes Norway, Finland, Iceland, Sweden, the Faroe Islands and Greenland.

Founded in 2009, Magnetic North Travel specialises in trips that are individually built around the Northern Lights and astronomy, soft adventure, wilderness and wildlife encounters, photography, culinary experiences, spa and wellbeing and off-piste winter activities.

According to Magnetic North Travel’s managing director Laura Greenman, interest in Canada has never been higher, thanks to the 150th anniversary of the country’s confederation this year. “We can’t think of a better place in which to expand our Magnetic North Travel programme. There is strong synergy between Canada and our existing destinations such as the Nordics and Northern Europe: real wilderness, authentic experiences and rustic accommodation, not to mention historical threads that link these two fascinating parts of the world through Viking history. We believe we have compiled an exciting range of itineraries and are sure that our existing and new clients will be just as excited about the new range of Canadian holidays as we are.”
