You may think that Mallorca is the hen and stag party mecca for sun, sea and sangria
Think again, because Compass Holidays is offering a getaway with a difference. The new Tramuntana walking tour offers travellers the chance to experience the hidden and tranquil panoramic gems of Mallorca. Guests can walk into the heart of the island, as well as soak up the cultural delights along the way.
There is without a doubt so much more to this island than you would normally expect, and Compass is helping to lead the way by offering its enlightened guests the co-ordinates to explore the hidden gems. ‘La Luminosa’, meaning enlightened, is the Spanish name for Mallorca. Its many hidden secrets include the tranquil core of Majorca, the wild Sierra de Tramuntana, with good walking paths through sun-drenched, scattered oaks.

During the eight-day, seven-night itinerary, guest will arrive in Alcudia before donning their suncream and walking boots. The first section leads from one of the most beautiful paths which stretches between the bay of Pollenca and Alcudia. The route follows the coast and climbs stunning rocky peaks along serpentine paths with superb views, including the breathtaking summit of Sierra de Tramuntana. Oak forests, flourishing orchards and rough meadows are a treat to the eye.
It is then time to put the feet up during the organised private transfer to Cuber reservoir, where travellers can experience the countryside which at times resembles high alpine territory.
The tour can be booked from £584 per person, between April and October 2017. Included is seven nights’ half board (breakfast and dinner) accommodation, luggage transfers, welcome briefing, transfer according to programme, train fare with nostalgic ‘Red Lightning’ train Soller to Palma, comprehensive tour pack, service hotline. Not included are lunches, visitor taxes, or transport to and from Spain.
