TUCKED AWAY in a narrow side street in the town of Baugé, in France’s Loir Valley, is situated a modern restaurant with a big future.
As unpretentious as it is chic, Restaurant O Prestige will, without doubt, soon be picking up star accolades for young chef Yohann Fouineau, at 29 years of age, a man with an impressive CV.
For Yohann is proving himself a worthy heir to those that took him under their wing, including Robuchon, Piege and Ducasse, turning out simple, yet refined dishes worthy of any Michelin-starred establishment.
The chef has a liking for preparing seafood, from turbot and asparagus to John Dory with truffles and mushrooms.
The lunchtime specials menu was an unexpected treat to behold, the delicacy of flavours and extraordinary attention to detail signifying how the chef, and restaurant, are set to soar.
