Learn about the history and culture of Havana, and explore the northern tip of the island in and around Havana in luxury
Premium yacht charter company, The Moorings, has launched a unique new 7-day holiday that combines five-star accommodation on a yacht (complete with private captain, chef and host) with an intimate look at the people and culture of Cuba by private tour guide. The only travel company in the UK to feature sailing in the north, this new experience means there is no need to move hotels during the week as the yacht is the means of transport and a luxurious base to retreat to each night.

Available weekly between March and May 2017, this Cuban crewed yacht charter explores the region between Havana and Varadero on the north of the island. Throughout the week, guests will disembark the yacht, meet their personal local guide and driver and head out to learn more about Cuba and its history and culture. Highlights include a visit to a local artist’s tile work in the neighbourhood of Jose Fuster; a visit to Revolution Square; a walking tour of Old Havana; an evening stop at the Buena Vista Social Club; a tour of a local tobacco farm to meet the family and workers; and a visit to Hemingway’s home. Two days of relaxing are spent enjoying some smooth day and sunset sailing in pristine cruising grounds, stopping to explore snorkeling spots and finding the perfect island for a picnic lunch.
The Moorings 5800 flagship catamaran is air-conditioned and features five guest cabins, all with private en-suite bathroom and room for up to 10 guests. No experience is needed, as the yacht comes complete with private captain, chef and host.
A seven-night Moorings 5800 private charter in Cuba costs from £3,038pp (based on 10 sharing) including captain, chef, host and all meals, snacks and beverages on the yacht. All tours and attractions in the itinerary are included, plus private local tour guide and driver. Flights are extra and can be arranged by The Moorings.
